UNGSTIR PRIME – Three workers from a mining asteroid near Ungstir Prime died today when a generator blew and breached the bulkhead of the cargo hold.
The fatally injured workers aboard the UMV Implacable, including cargo supervisor Katrina Prague, had been in the process of completing an inventory of minerals taken from the asteroid when the equipment exploded. The victims, along with the cargo, were pulled instantly into the unyielding vacuum of space.
All wore atmosphere suits, said Captain Owein Panderyn, commander of the Implacable, but the suits suffered damage from impact with ragged bulkhead edges or breakage from crates striking the helmets.
The other two victims are identified as Trevor Yonov and Marissa Schoen.
