Discovered in the beginning of 2645 by DMC Enterprises, it has since become the central planet of the Caryas Government with the main settlement of Riverturn.
History
About two and a half years prior to the discovery by DMC Enterprises, the planet had been found by a group of settlers intent on researching the effects of psionics and a group-think mentality on how a community would thrive. A group of settlers were placed on the planet in their mountainous region where the harsh climates would force them to band together. After genetic alteration, they were linked mentally.
Six months in to the project, the settler rebelled against those they viewed as their captors. Choosing to stay on the planet and start fresh, these people grew even closer, creating their own culture. However, fearing that the people might one day try to break free from this project and endanger the project, a gene was modified to require them to take a daily supplement of certain nutrients or else their bodies would begin to break down and they would die.
Trying to fight these effects, the people fled underground after their bodies began to reject all forms of natural light. They built an underground community, led by two bodies - a man and a woman. They were meant to balance each other as they were the two best able to maintain their independence.
As they continued to grow, strife began to develop. There were those who wanted their independence - to have their own thoughts. Two sides formed. Those who supported it and those who opposed it. It became an internal struggle that seemed to result in a stale-mate.
DMC Discovery
When DMC Enterprises founded the planet, they were immediately dragged in to this civil war, aiding those who desired their freedom.
After a series of trials, they were able to free those who wanted independence and offer a supplement to help counter the genetic modifications. Under the leadership of Hadi, they remain in their cavern dwellings, allowing the people of DMC to colonize the rest of the planet.
Riverturn
The primary settlement on Tavros is the small town of Riverturn, named for a location in Fastheld. Settlers from all over have begun arriving in the town, wanting to have a fresh place to start, though many seem to be Fastheldians, looking for a place to call home.
This town is the seat of the Caryas government as well as the personal home for Katrin Lomasa and her High Council.
In the passing years, the settlement has grown into a thriving city, a hotbed for the arts and culture. The city keeps a very close relationship to nature with several large parks that pay homage to the more simplistic way of life from Fastheldian culture.
