Currently, it requires some staff setup to get new starships up and running on OtherSpace. Eventually, we plan to automate the process, but until that happens we ask that players who want a new vessel post a +str in-game with information about the type of starship that they want. We give preference to requests that involve would-be ship owners who have recruited other players to be part of their crew. Starships are also available to players eligible for certain Veteran Rewards.

Civilian

  • Darktreader: A two-man exploration ship with good fuel efficiency and a big fuel tank, good for searching for resources or planets, or possibly as a scout.
  • Bolt: A racing ship, with large engines, the highest rate of speed, and very expensive fuel. Good for those fighter jock-types who have a need for speed but have deep pockets to keep her in top shape.
  • Tradehauler: A two-man small freighter, with very fuel efficient engines and enough torque to pull around 50 square meters of cargo.
  • Starfarer: A middle-of-the-line ship with expanded crew space for voyaging from star to star with your 4-man crew.
  • Hopper: A non-FTL shuttle/dropship that's very compact to fit in tight landing bays.
  • Arie: Snub-nosed freighter with the cockpit turret slung under the belly.
  • Wyn: Bat-shaped transport.
  • Umi: Lyiri-built spherical research pod.
