Refugees boarding Svajone
Posted By: Brody Article: APR09-1 Reported To: CNB Reported On: Comorro Reported At: Thu Apr 02 18:06:23 3009 COMORRO STATION - Several thousand Outverser refugees have begun to board the Svajone, the recently arrived station operated by a refugee group. So far, the transfer is reported to be going along smoothly, even with long wait times for those wishing to board. The conditions for boarding the station are extensive, including a required submission of a blood sample and a willingness to submit to the regulations aboard the station. Some of the regulations include: *Carrying Svajone identification in the citizens only parts of the station*Accepting 'station labor' while being provided with lodging and basic provisions upon the station, a requirement meaning those who live on board the station are required to contribute a set amount of time per week for service to the station's major functions*All business and governing on board the station is to be conducted in the Outverser language Terran Standard.Even with the restrictions, Stephen Adel, a human refugee, thought staying on the Svajone was worthwhile. "A lot is asked of us, but I think we finally have a chance of making it here." It is projected the early departure of some of the refugees may provide Comorro extra time before the damage to her filtration systems becomes irreparable.
Trade Show Winds Up
Posted By: Loki Article: APR09-2 Reported To: CNB Reported On: Comorro Reported At: Thu Apr 02 19:25:18 3009 COMORRO - A trade exhibition, held by the Virtual Creation Studios with local merchants in attends, finished on Sunday with the unveiling of a brand new information network and announcement of the competition winner."Over all, I feel it went very well," Emma Johanson said. "We're a young company and we try not to take ourselves too seriously. We try to go for more of a relaxed, youthful, upbeat feel and so we tend to come across a little bit unusual when people are used to seeing launches from companies who are much, much older."The final day of the exhibition commenced with an impromptu skit, that lead into the announcement of the winner of the Name the Information Network and the first glimpse at the new system. The Name that Information Network winner, was Mister Ashenmane, who won 500 credits and a certificate, for his SYnchonised Network And Public Service Entity (SYNAPSE) entry. When asked about the choice of network name, Sabrina Bradly replied, "I felt that it encompassed the idea behind what we're trying to do here. SYNAPSE is a free resource for the public, and we will never charge for actual access to it."
Short Human Terrorises Demarians
Posted By: Loki Article: APR09-3 Reported To: CNB Reported On: Comorro Reported At: Sun Apr 05 02:28:09 3009 Comorro - Demarian refugees have been advised to keep a look out for a short human who carries a saddle, between the height of 3'5" to 4'3" after two attempted abductions in the waste management area in the gearclanger hub."I was just going down to throw out some garbage, because I wasn't willing to pay a Lotorian to take garbage down for me, when I heard a voice calling out the derogatory name of kitty," said one of the victims. "I had enough and someone threw an old bloated can at me, that said Kitty's Choice."Parents of all races have also been warned to keep a close eye on their children, after complaints that a human male matching the description of the attempted abductor approached a group of children, claiming them to be his apprentices and that with their assistance he would be able to over throw the tallies and get them a Demarian, as written in a book by someone called Urfkgar.
Refugee Ship Stolen!
Posted By: Loki Article: APR09-4 Reported To: CNB Reported On: Comorro Reported At: Sat Apr 18 16:00:00 3009 Reports came in last night of a B'hiri hijacking the IND Solstice from Comorro's docking bay. Comorro security was called, but upon arrival to the docking bay, several people were found to be sleeping and the Solstice and its rogue crew were unable to be stopped. One Lotorian was taken in for questioning, his name has not been released at this point. Security has reported that he is not a suspect at this point in time and will be released later today."It was the strangest thing, one minute people were running to help, and the next minute they were all on the ground..just sleeping. I've heard of this before, but never on this kind of scale," one refugee eyewitness reported. A few of the Sentinels, a group of refugee security headed by Norran Lomasa, offered similar sentiments, "How're we supposed to fight this?" one man asked, "We didn't even have a chance out there. I was running to help and next thing I know I'm on the ground and waking up. I didn't even remember falling asleep."We here at CNB will continue to bring you more up to date coverage as details unfold.
Svajone: Colonization will wait
Posted By: Brody Article: APR09-5 Reported To: CNB Reported On: Comorro Reported At: Tue Apr 21 17:33:44 3009 SVAJONE - Svajone - In an audio only speech earlier today to those living on the Svajone from its leader, it was made clear the Svajone is placing little priority in finding a planet to reside on. "Immediate colonization is an extremely dangerous, intensive undertaking." the speech said, going on to claim such an effort would likely cost several thousand refugee lives. The speech ended with a message for the leaders of other worlds, "We can not help that we have arrived in this land as foreigners. What we can do is work to building positive relations with those who have lived here for eons: Offer trade opportunities, diplomatic relations, and work with all to create a future in which we may all share in."Suren, an Aukami foreign relations analyst, said of the speech, "It is obvious the Svajone is attempting to be viewed as a state in its own right. Whether it is worthy of such a designation is not yet known."
Paintedheart Responds to Svajone Speech
Posted By: Loki Article: APR09-6 Reported To: CNB Reported On: Comorro Reported At: Wed Apr 22 01:59:52 3009 Commorite Liaison for Refugee Affairs Silvereye Paintedheart published the following statement through Comorro news affiliates in response to an earlier speech delivered on Svajone: "For several weeks now I have been in negotiations with one Mr. Mikage over the Svajone project. I was never satisfied with the transparency of the project and the secrecy that Mr. Mikage demanded, but given the precarious situation aboard Comorro I felt that it was in the refugees' best interest to secure a lifeboat for some of our population. To this end, I believe the Svajone station is appropriate. However, recent statements emanating from the Svajone should be troubling for all refugees. Mr. Mikage, who is the moving force behind the project, must recognize that he does not own Svajone station. His initial requirements for blood tests, identification checks, language requirements, constant secrecy, and now his unilateral declaration that refugees should not seek a homeworld which some observers have interpreted as a declaration of independence, are anathema to the project of openness and cooperation that we have cultivated since our arrival on Comorro.I call on Mr. Mikage to recognize that it was with the help of refugees that he retrieved his station, it is with the hands of refugees that he makes it space-worthy, and it will be refugees who take the risks in securing the station. Ultimately, it is refugees who must live there. Mr. Mikage is not the king of Svajone. I invite Mr. Mikage to emerge from seclusion and join the rest of the refugee community in an open forum to determine our common future. We are in his debt for the location of Svajone, but such debt does not extend to the surrender of our rights as sentient beings and as individuals in a sovereign community."

People started dropping like flies. They simply fell asleep in the docking hub," an eyewitness reported. It was with the help of the Sentinels, the refugee security force, that the two were able to be caught and taken in. "We owe a debt to those people that have been helping out with that. Hopefully our ships will stop being prayed on now. First the Lotorians and now the B'hiri and Aukami. Research stations on Aukam and Hekayt prime detected the disturbance and sent ships to investigate, after it was first picked up by survey satellites near the cloud."A large portion of the dust cloud is gone, and great deal of Hekayti and boulder sized rocks have been found in place. At this time, we can confirm that whatever happened, caused a massive amount of matter to collapse and resulted in the birth of an anomoly."
