Overview
Unlike it's cold blooded counterparts, Samuilecertola are invigorated by the cold(they are possessed of a metabolism that is strongly exothermic, meaning that when they're active, their brains and bodies tend to overheat, making them sluggish) and often can be found bathing in cold springs or laying in the snow.
It's body mass is equitable to that of a large dog, though it's short, only standing averagely at a foot tall. From tail to snout tip, the average body length is between 5-6 feet. It's appearance is similar to that of a Komodo dragon from Earth, though a mane of soft quills surrounds it's head, and shorter, similarly soft quills cover it's back, almost like fur.
Non-aggressive, the Samuilecertola only attacks when it feels threatened, and secretes a hallucinagenic poison from it's fangs and claws which allows it to escape most life-threatening situations.
Occasionally Samuilecertola have been tamed for pets by both B'hiri and Lyiri.
RP Guidelines
Samuilecertola are quick, but not very threatening, leaving the average roll to be either at a Good or Great level.
As they are poisonous, negative modifiers come into play if the attack is successful. The poison is strong, but essentially harmless, leaving no permanent tissue damage.
Mods are as follows:
- 1st round: -2
- 2nd round: -3
- 3rd round: -4
At the fourth round the poison begins to wear off, and negative modifiers will then reduce by 1 per turn IE:
- 4th round: -4
- 5th round: -3
- 6th round: -2
- 7th round: -1
Thus, by the eighth round of combat the poison no longer holds any effect, and the Samuilecertola has assumably escaped.
