Investigative Report: Mikage of Svajone

Today, we focus on the leader of the Svajone, known as "Mr. Mikage."Photographs show that the Outverser known as Mr. Mikage shows signs of greying hair, and wrinkly skin. Like local species we are familiar with, this indicates that he is quite advanced in age. Unlike the Aukami, who measure their lives in centuries, most humans rarely exceed the one century mark before complications from age set in. The current health of Mikage appears to be well for the age period he is in, setting his age at approximately 85 years."You will observe the cane he uses," Aukami doctor Letik explains. "Pictures of the subject suggests he has a limp in the left leg, most likely a degenerating condition or prior injury. A lack of knowledge of Outverser physiology or medical records make differentiating difficult."Like many Outversers, the only recorded knowledge of Mr. Mikage's past come from other Outversers. "Several Outversers have changed their name, or adopted another identity, making an accurate name incredibly hard to determine." Human Outverser anthropologist, and CNB consultant, Evan Ong said. "For some, arrival has meant a chance at a new life." Ong also explains that the name Mikage is an old Outverser word, "Which confers a connotation of a guide to many." Attempts to telepathically or psychically determine an accurate name for Mikage have failed.The policy and beliefs of Mikage are easier to determine, as Ong explains. "Mikage is the name of a guide from an Outverser religion. Additionally, the name 'Svajone', which translates to 'traveller', is also the name of an Outverser guide from the same pantheon." Mikage is explained to translate to a 'leader guide', while Svajone is explained as a 'guide for travellers.' The designation indicates Mikage is most likely a human subtype called a La Terran.While there has been few explicit statements on Mikage's policy beliefs, political analysts who have observed the few speeches made as well as Svajone operations made public have suggested Mikage may be an 'Outverser Populist', a term recently coined to mean a nationalist movement centered upon Outversers. Others disagree, believing that the Svajone's efforts to conduct foreign policy on its own behalf suggest 'Outverser Pluralism' is a more accurate term for the beliefs of the Svajone's leader.CNB

Yumsno pledges an additional 100 000 for free hospital

"I can't think of a better thing to get behind, than helping out these unfortunate refugees. No doubt, with some assistance, they will become productive members of society once again. They have fallen upon hard times, but it is not up to us to judge them because of this."It is currently unknown if Mister Yumsno will be attending the Hav Skog Free Hospital function. However a spokes person has remarked that he hopes that he'll be able to attend.

Children's Entertainer Back in the Spotlight

The B'hiri was gravely injured in late 2648 by an exploding Hivership, losing the use of her left eye and six of her legs. Doctors said she'd never walk again, let alone perform. But through the use of cybernetics and a grueling physical therapy, she is once again able to bring joy to millions of children. "I couldn't have done this for my own sake," she told CNB in an interview yesterday. "But the thousands of letters from children, both B'hiri and other races, really showed me how much a show like Eira is needed in today's galaxy. Children need an escape, to just be children, and I'm eternally grateful that I can help give that to them again." Eira will resume broadcasting June 18th.

Svajone: Better outverser living?

Ultimately, the report concluded, "Taking into account fundamental sentient needs, economic and political liberties, technological progress, as well as an ordered society, Outversers upon the Svajone enjoy the highest known standards of Outverser living." The study goes on to note the guarantees of basic nutrition and lodging for Svajone citizens, compared to elsewhere, has created a minimum standard of living above that of those residing elsewhere.The Outverser Statistics Group received resources to conduct the study from Svajone Command.

Outversers Taking Head Count

This ship entered into a synchronous flight path with Comorro and returned several outversers that had disappeared to the station. Included amoung them were the missing crews of the IND Laughing Fox and the IND Solstice, with only one exception. The acting captain of the Laughing Fox, Tiana Ryoleli remains on the missing list.With no warning the ship suddenly broke from the flight pattern and jumped from space around Comorro. Citizens of the refugee enclave have been counting heads. "So far there have been no new reports of any missing," one of Comorro's security reported, "And we will continue to be as cooperative with the Sentinels as possible." Norran Lomasa, Captain of the Sentinals was not available for comment.

Aukam Cepelem Elder dies at clinic

"Our thoughts are with her friends, her family, and all the people of Aukam. She brought peace to us after much turbulence. The loss is unimaginable."The Cepelem now must convene for private sessions in the Bright Temple to determine the next Elder. The process may take several days.

The Cepelem remained behind closed doors for exactly 12 minutes before the light and pulse occurred. Spirit of Fire located destroyed

The refugee vessel Zero Gravitas investigated and left an hour later. Shortly after, the Spirit of Fire exploded. The cause is not known.Theodore Finch, owner of Zero Gravitas, was unavailable for comment.

Tazlo Union Boss Condemns Hekayti and Aukami Conflict

Svajone activates psi suppressor

The statement went on to say side effects to active psionists were minimal. "While studies have shown some psionists who undergo prolonged periods of time away from their psionic abilities, the physiological effects upon those within the field are minimal."When asked for details as to what has prompted the activation, a spokesman said, "Activation of psionic suppression measures is merely one of many steps taken as the Svajone increases its active alert level."

Epidemic or Coincidence?

The first woman, acting captain of the IND Laughing Fox, Miss Tiana Ryoleli. The second woman, Susan Schriber, former second in command of the IND Solstice. Both were brought to Comorro's clinic suffering from similar symptoms including headaches and nausea. Currently both women are stable and under the care of Dr. Alastair Hall.Dr. Hall himself was unavailable for comment, and patients records are being held in confidentiality.

VCS failure?

Was the software demo a failure? "Not completely," one of the companies analysts replied in an interview after the events. "VCS's software managed to hold up against multiple attacks. It was a rather impressive feat. We were also able to collect data for use in future tests."When asked about the defeat Miss Bradly's reply was, "I'm happy with how well the system held up. It took a joint effort to finally take it down. Now we know how a passive defense holds up, where its strengths and weaknesses lie, and next time we'll be preparing a slightly more aggressive approach to our security measures."Has this display discouraged others from purchasing VCS products or connecting to Synapse? "It would seem not," one VCS employee replied. "People are still coming in the store and connecting to our node to purchase our software."Comorro has offered VCS a second chance at some point in the future. Dates have not yet been set.

Svajone considering transport rings

'Soar' is an outverser word referring to elegant flight.

When asked about the integration operations undertaken by the Svajone, he declined comment.A high ranking Svajone official asked about the integration aspect said, "Many Outversers are against the sharing of any technology with natives. For many of them, their first experiences in Hiverspace were to fall under attack by hostile alien forces. Organized integration would allow us to share some of the technology we possess, while restricting the more dangerous technologies."Evan Ong, Outverser anthropologist and CNB consultant explained that Outverser lore is full of stories involving dire results when two cultures with substantially different technology came together. "The common result is often portrayed as a civil war or self destruction." He went on to explain that Outverser lore is full of culturally favored protocol concerning first encounters, many of which oppose the sharing of technology.CNB
