Born less than twenty-one million years ago, when the location of the Homestalk was still known, Kemetti was only a few hundred thousand years old when the Djeraki invasion of the Ancient Expanse began. His mother, Gama, took him and his sister, Helika, into deep space to escape the destruction. %r%tSeparated from the Homestalk, the two younger spacefarers could not draw from that vast source of wisdom and information and could only learn from their mother. %r%tThey gathered other refugees as they went, most of them residing aboard Gama due to her size. The vast majority of these refugees were from a flotilla of Muscipulans who were the first to join the “herd”. The Muscipulans turned the older Yaralu's interior into a tremendous jungle garden, and the little fleet flew from world to world, gathering what resources could be found to keep everyone fed. %r%tThis arrangement continued until long after the Kamir and the Hekayti drove the Djeraki out of known space, the Muscipulans eventually giving way as the dominant species to Lotorians. Civilizations rose and fell within the Yaralu, most of the races of Hiverspace gaining a foothold with them for a time. %r%tThe two smaller Yaralu would act as scouts, flying to new worlds so that their denizens could survey them and report back as to their available resources. One of these journeys sent Helika to a distant star system and she never returned. Kemetti, nearly 10 million years old by this time, scoured the system in question, but could find no trace of her. Gama followed and both of the spacefarers combed the system for any hint of Helika's whereabouts, but she had apparently vanished. %r%tThe two Yaralu remained in that system for five million years, searching and brooding. Their resources ran dangerously low and many beings left them in fear of starvation. Gama refused to leave the system but feared for for Kemetti's survival and thus sent him off on his own into deep space. %r%tWith what remained of Gama's population, Kemetti ventured on, returning to the area that had once been known as the Ancient Expanse. The Yaralu and its residents then began to work for the Kamir, transporting large amounts of cargo between the worlds they controlled. %r%tWhen the Hiver war broke out, Kemetti was set upon by the Il'ri'Kammi while travelling near the Rigor Strand. They attempted to take control of the Yaralu for their own purposes, but a B'hiri patrol interfered. %r%tFrom then on, Kemetti joined the war on the side of the B'hiri, enraged by the attempted usurpation of his free will. The spacefarer was heavily damaged in the Battle of Blue Sands, however, and was forced to limp outside of known space. %r%tA small detatchment of Hiver-controlled ships engaged the wounded Yaralu in orbit around a heretofore uncharted planet, causing it to crash on the world's polar regions. There the immense creature rested, frozen in the ice cap, it's crew dying of injuries, starvation, and hypothermia. That world would later become known as Fortrain.
