General William "Ironside" Jensen
Description
A human male, in his late 60's. Salt and pepper hair covers a head that bears a face betraying a hard life. A large scar runs from his right temple, through his nose and to his left cheek. Where his right eye once was is nothing but skin stitched together to hide an empty socket. In contrast to his physical appearance his uniform is impeccably neat. The olive green officer's jacket is pressed and void of any dirt. On the left breast above the pocket are 5 rows of campaign ribbons and medals from his career. A gold name plate is pinned above the right pocket, emblazoned with GEN. JENSEN. Gold pins of the Vanguard logo are pinned to his lapels, while four silver stars are pinned to the epaulets on his shoulders. An olive green hat with a black brim rests upon his head which sports a gold Vanguard logo.
Brief Biography
The Vanguard Commander in Chief, the General has had a long and extensive military career for 50 years. Working his way up from Private, he earned his nickname early in his career when showing a knack to take anything the enemy could throw at him and still keep coming. Medics would joke that no matter how many wounds he would suffer they just seemed to bounce off him like he had a hide of iron, and the troops under his command began calling him "Ironside". The nickname stuck and he has been using it ever since.
Overall the General was wounded 3 dozen times by bullets, slashed across the face with an enemy's combat knife in hand to hand combat, peppered several times by shrapnel, and broke several bones from being thrown back from explosions going off too close to him over the course of his career. Despite all this, the General, perhaps miraculously, came out of all of it with only the loss of an eye to show for it, at least outwardly. He doesn't often admit it, but all the wounds that he suffered have begun to cause him several problems as he has aged, ranging from arthritis to debilitating migraines. Despite such problems he maintains his image as "Ironside" and never lets it show in front of his troops.
