About

I've been with JoinTheSaga since March 2004, which kinda places me as an oldbie. I started here when I was only 16 and oh my god I was only 16...

I started over on Reach of the Empire with a character called Tidus. I was fresh to MUDs at the time (I'd participated in a fair bit of Yahoo roleplay - yeuch!). I tried to get into OtherSpace with Dement, a fresh-faced Waldheimer who was just entering the galaxy for the first time, it made following on from the vast and intimidating lore a lot easier. Obviously, he had to be an over curious Engineer.

It was a long time before I ever got into playing Dement as a character, though I did roleplay with him my enthusiasm was always focused on Reach of the Empire because I am an avid Star Wars nerd. Through the first year of playing I added to my repertoire of characters so that I could get myself around in the universe, my first alt was Leonardo Travis or 'Leon' in June, my first attempt at a military character. Unfortunately, I found it a struggle to include him into roleplay, so in response my next concept was Rillitan Ryoleli in August. Chock full of macho and projective desires he was a kung-fu using gun blazing bounty hunting son-of-a-bitch with had aspirations of teaching his self made martial art. It was samey, but different enough to pass, and it got me off to a good start. Rillitan remains one of my favorite characters I have ever created and has easily been the most active over the years.

Lastly came Rukais in March 2005, I think it's arguable that he really is me placing myself into the game. Rukais reflected how I felt when I created him. It was a bit more ambitious, I wanted to use some of the history of Otherspace to create a more interesting character and I looked at some of the large events that happened to give myself something to go on. After all that, I still ended up creating a sarcastic teenager who only wanted to thrill ride fast spaceships. Still, he too remains an interesting character thanks to some edits to his personality and the general starting point (Rukais was brought back to life after La Terre exploded).

Crash smash rattle screech. Clank arrives and makes his way towards the kitchenette where Raicon and Akamatsu are at. The car-sized spider hunches down and fixes his two main eyes on the pair. "GIVE ME SOME MEAT." He vocalizes loudly, and then adds as an afterthought. "PLEASE." His secondary eyes are keeping a watch on Tiana and the others, but the pirate seems to consider the standoff business as usual.
