So you want to make a biography page for your character? That's brilliant! Of course, you can go about making your page as personal as you like but, if like me, you're a sucker for Wiki consistency, please feel free to follow some of the basic formatting hints on this page.

Categories

Generally, I tend to separate biography pages into three sections, 'Who They Are', 'Biography' and 'Meta'.

• Who They Are

In this segment, you might like to put a little upfront information about your characters place in OtherSpace and a brief blurb on their recent history to give a general overview that readers can refer to. I also like to add a description and, for certain characters, a segment in which other editors can add their in character opinions of them. This can be helpful to other players who have roleplayed with you before and are looking for a reference of information they can know in character without being accused of meta gaming.

• Biography

Here I prefer to go into a lot more detail on the history of the character in question, detailing their past and recent present with as much information I can gather. Picking up information from someones biography, of course, would be considered meta gaming without consent.

• Meta

This is a segment I include with most character pages so that I can include information that is out of character, it's where you might provide a list of logs the character has starred in, list their badges and even segments for quotes or character related silliness.

• What should I put if I'm not married / I haven't died / I'm not employed?
