Participants: Narai, Wu
Location: Corommite Hub - Comorro
A commotion from the Refuge Enclave gets closer as Narai appears from it. Behind him, a number of people shouting at him. Not in anger, but to get his attention. "No, no, NO!" The Opodian shouts. "We are not planning to return to the Bright Cluster. The Dominion has the rift blockaded! Now please! Go!" He yells, trying to get those following him to leave. As he comes closer into view, a hand full of his personal guards swoop in and push the followers back.
A young human male and his spider robot, outbound from the research labs, gradually slows to a alt. Eyes glued to the commotion. The robot's cluster of polycarbonate lenses also turn towards where the man is looking. For the moment they just watch - among other onlookers, no doubt.
The legendary explorer backs away slowly as his guards push the people back into the Enclave. Sighing, he shakes his head, "Why do they always come after me? One day of peace and quiet would be..." As he finishes his sentence, he turns and is face to face with Wu. Jumping abit, startled, Narai offers a smile, trying to recover , "Uh, hello there?" He says cautiously, not sure if this is another one of those crazy people after him.
Although the expression might not translate clearly, Wu just looks harmlessly curious. The young man gives the Opodian an apologetic smile, "Sorry. Uhm, hi." With the last he flashes a regular smile. "You're from the Bright Cluster?" Wu asks curiously, head canting to a slight angle.
The robot remains impassive.
"No, I am afraid I am not." Narai replies. "I'm from Kamsho, here in the Expase. I'm the first person to make contact with the Orion Arm and the Bright Cluster though. My company, Trans-Dimension Expeditions, is at the forefront of dimensional exploration."
Wu's mouth 'oh's in realization. But then he straightens and his head just cants again. "Did you have anything to do with the development of that rift drive?" he asks, cautiously curious.
The Opodian frowns, almost in disappointment of the fact at hand. "Alas, I did not. I merely was the first to use it's potential to the fullest. Very few outside of TDX can say they've explored three universes, and lived to tell the tale!" He chuckles. "When we made first contact with the Idaran's in the Cluster, it was a close call. They are very militaristic, but we survived. And, sadly, it is our fault as to why they have rift technology."
Wu gives a grin and nods, though it quickly takes a more subdued turn. "From the news they haven't changed much," Wu agrees with a faint sigh.
"Yes. This Dominion of Self-Aligned Worlds." Narai says, scratching his muzzle. "Not sure what to make of them. The Myini are a strong, prideful people. I suspect we are in for something soon from the Dominion. What though, I don't know." He sighs again. "But I'll accept my place in history should things go bad."
Wu shakes his head, "I don't think anyone can blame you for exploring." But then he looks over towards the refugee enclave, the light sources reflected in his glasses shifting with the motion. "But what was all that about? Uhm. If I can ask." A shy smile flickers once.
"No, but they can hold me responsible for willfully giving them rift technology." Narai replies, shruging. His eyes shoot back at the Enclave. "Well, there are some who want to travel the rifts. Others.. well.. they want to go through for new opportunties, or to cause problems. I'm not a transport service. I'm an explorer."
Wu nods, expression thoughtful for a moment before coming back to the present to looking back to the Opodian. "Well, I should be going. It's been nice talking." He gives a bright smile and, just like that, turns to go.
The Opodian nods. "A pleasure talking to you, good sir." He offers another nod, before turning to get his guards and get back to his ship!
