Named for the Muscipulan who first documented it in the night sky in 1687 CE, the Cristata nebula is shaded in violet-blues and indigos and is shaped vaguely like a sunburst, with seven visible ‘rays’. It is situated just galactic southwest of Hekayti space. A small black hole stands in the center of the nebula, slowly drawing in the gases of the nebula and creating a relatively clear core.
The nebula currently serves to divide Hekayti space from Orion Confederacy space, with Materi Syna close by.
