Lazarus Blades

Elected President of the Solar Consortium in the year 3000 (after the suicide of President Yoseph and the assassination of President Pryde), Australian-born Lazarus Blades enacted a limited open trade policy with alien worlds. This triggered backlash among fanatics who formed the Keep Earth Pure movement, led by Gustav Eiger. In December 3000, Blades died when KEP terrorists detonated more than a dozen plasma bombs on Earth's surface, rendering the planet unreachable and killing millions.
