Xanya is sitting in the gras somewhere between the line of trees and the tents. she is working on some ship designs on via her PDA.`
Zu is flapping, rather quickly, in the direction of his fellow councilmember in Xanya, coming down for a landing on her shoulder, with just a little warning as he tells her, "I've got some bad news."
From out of nowhere. Or the sky, one supposes, comes a flying architect. Or rather, a landing one. Who lands just behind the others rather suddenly. Kail meanwhile, is waddling towards the group from the general direction of town.
Xanya smiles as she notices Zu landing, but when he speaks her smiles fades. "more bad news? whats next? vessa want to kill herself?" she says as if trying to expect the worse news she can think of. then notices kethren's landing and waves to him while she tries to keep working on ship designs.
Zu glances back to Kethren now, "Oh, good, you're here too. We're gonna need that prison a little faster than I feared, 'm afraid. I got to interrogating Vessa's aide, and she gave me some very disturbing news." The bat seems to be in a fair amount of distress over this one.
Kethren nods to Zu "How big a prison did you have in mind? Meantime of course, we can always use the brig on the Cro, and force the use of any free inn and hotel rooms. Not my first choice, obviously, but I'd rather do that than kick people out of their houses while a prison's being grown..."
Xanya turns her pda off and puts it away. "oke whats the news." She says slightly impationt.
Zu replies to Kethren first "Big enough to house a good number of people, I can't give you an exact number yet, but I'm afraid this is going to get bad quickly." Looking back to Xanya he replies, "We've almost certainly been infiltrated by some group that wants to get to Vessa. I don't have motive, and I don't know an exact plan, but that aide started going into convulsions when asked questions regarding the potential of a threat to Vessa existing."
Kethren nods "Well... in a pinch we could tie anyone who seems really guilty to a tree in the forest... No. No, we won't do that. Won't do that to anyone... does sound rather like we'll need more than what the police station was going to have though. Sigh. Work's just never done, is it?"`
Xanya sighs a bit. "great, it's nto just a few it's probabbly many. Can't we just blast this planet with a deathstar and call it even?" She says sarcasticly. "No wait. I haven't build one yet. nevermind scratch that. how about we make a prison island like alcatraz back on earth is... or was... which ever it is."
Zu nods, "I've arranged for Sadie and Aina to begin conducting brain scans on all employees of the Danu chroi government, including myself, you two, and those two, right down to the lowest level of guard I have. I believe that it's some kind of device in the brain causing this, unless she was being directly controlled by a psionic, somehow, which I'm not even sure is possible."`
Kethren looks thoughtful "Well... a shaman can exert considerable control over one they've bonded with. But Vessa's a shaman herself. She's largely immune to that. That aside, I'm certainly open to suggestions for the prison. Never designed one of those before."
Xanya snaps her fingers. "I got it. we can construct arcam asylum." She says. "no never mind that's for the criminally insane." She says and looks up. "wait what a brain scan, really?" she then looks to kethren. "if needed I can build a prison in space. would keep our fine planet clean from those scum."
Zu only gives a small smirk at Xanya as he replies, "Well, considering that this could well be a full blown coup, The prison may only be for holding until trial. Just depends on what council decides at the trial."
Kethren nods "Not sure I like the idea of a space prison. Surely it becomes too simple for an unruly prisoner to make off with the entire building if they slip the guards and such."
Xanya sighs a bit. "Just handing out idea's."
Zu nods at Xanya, "Yes, I realize that, Xanya. I would prefer the prison be here anyway. I think it would be easier for them to find a way to off themselves in a space prison, and if these people are insane enough to have devices put in their skulls, I wouldn't put it past them."
Kethren smirks at Zu "I should probably remind you right now, that I have a device implanted in my head, and I've yet to be called insane by anyone. Aina put it there, even. Interesting experience, really. Xan has one as well. But yes, easier to keep an eye on things down here. Not to mention a plethora of native species that might not like them causing trouble."
"Oke so a prison island then?" Xanya says. "and you got a good point there."
Zu glances back to Kethren, replying, "Last time I checked you didn't go into agonizing pain under questioning. That woman was having an entire seizure by the last question, couldn't even try to say a word. The upside is, it gives me a very nice nametag on any who are with these people after a brain scan.
Kethren nods "Yes, but you were implying insanity for having any cranial implants. Mine is quite useful... admittedly I don't want to do it again. Having your skull opened while you're awake isn't a particularly fun experience." Then taps his chin a bit, looking thoughtful "I'll have to inquire with the other scientists, see if an artificial island prison is feasible... I really don't want to use the island we already have for this."
Xanya thinks a bit. "should be doable if you ask me. we where able to make drilling platforms back home in our time. plus lots of other homes simply drifting on the sea. YOUR an architect you should know those things, and I am telling it to you?"
Zu holds a hand up to Xanya, "Yes, yes, it could probably be done." Looking to Kethren, "What I'm concerned about. Is making this place suicide proof. I don't want a single one of these people managing to off themselves before their trial or interrogation. These people aren't dying without council sentencing it."
Kethren smirks at Xan "Yes, I know that such things were done on Earth. But we're dealing here with construction methodology that was unheard of back there. Can't exactly just copy old plans and use them anew." then nods to Zu "That... could be rather difficult. Even if you chained everyone to a wall, or cut off their hands first, some will be determined enough to find a way. But if you have any thoughts, I'll take em under consideration."
Xanya nods to kethren then looks to both. "how about any psyonic devices for one? strong walls with a soft but strong exterior so people won't be able to bash their heads in on the walls. to name but a few things that pops into my mind."
Zu nods at Xan, "Padded cells, yes. These people aren't going to be seeing anything even close to shaving equipment. I suggest keeping several different poison antidotes on hand as well. And plastic silverware to eat with."
Kethren shakes his head "Not sure plastic's such a great idea. Dunno bout your end of things, but back on Earth, a surprising amount of prisoners built good weapons out of stolen plastic knives and such. Should probably build homing beacons in every piece. Nothing they can remove without setting off alarms."`
Xanya nods with kethren. "I agree. even plastic stuff can be made into a weapon. hell even paper can be made into a crossbow when mixed with home made glue and some elastic from underwear." She says and stands up stretching herself. "I'm going to take a break. I'll see you two next time." She says and slowly walks away.
Zu hops from her shoulder, moving to Kethren's, "Yes, I know. Perhaps we should just see if we can't hack those devices in the brain, send 'em into convulsions if they try offing themselves, maybe even manage to make them able to talk during interrogation."
